The view from an imaginary window...

'Holiday cottage'

I'm rather pleased with this one.. reminds me of my holidays..

This is the actual view from my kitchen window.. Do you like the leaded glass - An ebay find £0.99p + postage , a bargain!  My hubby made up the wooden frame out of some old floorboards, a quick sand and a little bee's wax, perfect.

*Notice behind my beautiful collection of 60's/70's kitch bud vases.. An acquired taste some would say...I just love them..

Mixer update.. Next to the window is my new heavy duty  Kitchenaid mixer... Long story.. Which I won't bore you with..bought 3 of the regular kitchenaid mixers from a local department store.. (not all at once I hasten to add) every one had a major fault and got returned. So I gave up and got this beauty.

I'm off to make me some wholemeal seedy bread...mmm..

Moving the press

We picked up the press from Lowestoft yesterday...In a big old van that Norman borrowed from work.. Many thanks to Howard.

It is a beast of  a thing and weighs an absolute ton, my daughters partner Saul helped Norman move it into the studio this morning. Many thanks Saul.

Sorry this photo's a bit fuzzy

What  a lump, it is so heavy, needless to say I was less than useless with the loading and unloading. There is also a large sheet of steel, the press bed, but that made a boring photograph.

The people that we got it from where lovely Johnathan Anderson..You can see his work here... http://www.jonathanandersson.co.uk/ and Clare Johnson you can see her work here.... http://www.clarejohnson.co.uk.

Norman has just had a quick look at it and the electrics are in a hell-of-a-mess, as I said in an earlier post, it was sold on Ebay as broken....It's just as well that the intention was to change it back to a manual press.

I won the press.. I won the press

Ebay, Ebay, I won the press....

At a bargain price.... he! he!

Just got to collect it...150 miles round trip....Will need to borrow/hire a van

(I'll need two strong men).... and pay for it.

As you can see it's in bits...

But, I know a man who is brilliant at fixing things.

Have a good weekend everyone.... I know that I will.....

I am SO thrilled and excited....I can't believe that I won.

I have the biggest smile on my face.... Cheshire cats and all that...

It's old, it's broken.... And I want it...

I'm bidding on a large etching press...  Just a few minutes to go... Wish me luck everyone and fingers crossed that it's not too expensive...
